Hi there, I'm Ines

Project manager. Parent. Expat based in Lisbon, Portugal.

A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.

How It Started

Moving to Portugal wasn't in our long-range plan. Like many international moves, it began as a work opportunity and quickly grew into something much larger.

The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complex than they should.

The Adjustment Period

There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning on the fly. Gradually, routines formed. We found places that worked for us, met other families, and began building something that felt steady.

Why I Built Noqu Sela Rivn

Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.

This site exists to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in Portugal.

What This Site Does (And Doesn't)

This site is about:

  • Hands-on experience from life in Portugal
  • Centered on family life and everyday realities
  • Updated whenever something truly changes

This site is not:

  • Not a tourism authority resource
  • A paid-review platform
  • Just another travel blog

Looking Ahead

Our stay in Portugal goes on, as does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue recording what we learn.

If you have questions about family life in Lisbon or anywhere in Portugal, please feel free to get in touch.

Cheers,

Ines
